At Amplified Group, our mission is: To change how it feels to work in the tech industry.
Over the years, we’ve worked with hundreds of teams, helping leaders build stronger relationships, create alignment, and improve performance. What we often find is that leaders knew their teams could be performing better, but they weren’t always sure where to start.
That’s why we created the Team Speed Check.
Originally, it wasn’t designed as a product. It was a tool we used during the discovery phase of our team development programmes. Before working with a team, we’d ask everyone to complete a short assessment so we could understand where they were today.
The results helped us understand what was really happening beneath the surface.
- Where was the team already strong?
- Where was friction slowing them down?
- Where were people experiencing the team differently?
- And which conversations would make the biggest difference?
Because ultimately, the team is where strategy gets executed. You can have a clear strategy, great processes and ambitious targets, but if the team isn’t aligned, communicating well and able to move together, execution slows down.
The problem is, the way a team actually works together can be surprisingly difficult to see when you’re inside it. That’s what made the Team Speed Check so valuable.
It didn’t just help us design better workshops, it helped leaders see their teams more clearly, understand what was getting in the way and decide where to focus first.
So we started to wonder, if this was so valuable for the teams we worked with, why shouldn’t every team be able to use it?
Hear from our co-founder, Vic:
So we decided to make the Team Speed Check available to everyone. It gives leaders the same diagnostic approach we’ve used for years to understand how a team is working today, what’s helping them move faster, and what might be holding them back.
Becoming an exceptional team doesn’t start with a workshop, a framework, or a new process. It starts with understanding where your team is today.
What does that look like in practice?
Customer Success Leader, Andy Bryars, used the Team Speed Check with his teams. In this short video, Andy explains how the Team Speed Check gave them valuable insight and direction.

Building a bigger picture of how GTM teams are working
And now we’re taking what we’re learning from individual teams and building a picture across the tech industry. The Team Speed Check gives you your score. The GTM Team Index shows you how that score compares with other teams across the tech industry.
We’re aiming to include 1,000 teams, giving leaders a way to understand how their team compares with others and where relatively small changes could make a meaningful difference.
